IIRC, the Celestars are apparenly quite the performers despite their age, optically they're top drawer so I've read. I'll be surprised if it stays cheap.

In fact i really don't get that mentality.

It was a Bargain at £300 so buy it, now that a Bid has been placed it will now go over £300

So why even bother bidding...you have already now lost it.

As for the seller, well there quids in.

I've scored a few good sales on eBay, loads of people get carried away and forget to actually use a bit of common sense and tactics.

I've re-auctioned something I decided not to use and some nutter paid 20% more than what I had paid for it (even though it was the last item I had bought)

If you are going to bid whats the point of going in so early? The later you wait the higher chance it will go for lower. It's great for a seller, frustrating for the buyer

Erm, cos it's an auction site and that's what you do in an auction?

Many a time I've put in a cheeky bid very early on, only to find that I win the item for a bargin. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

I buy militaria and what I do is bid a few quid then a few more later on, always on the bottom 20% of what it's worth so on the face of it when the bids start getting serious the number of bids implies a bidding war.
