Venus setting

MKI: Nekkid eyeball observation.

Last night I was able to watch Venus until it actually set on the horizon this evening, the air was that clear. I watched her fade in the increasingly denser air as she sank. She started out very bright, casting a wonderous reflection on the still, millpond like sea. As she dimmed, so the reflection faded. But see remained visible as an orange dot until finally, after flickering a couple of times, she was gone.

A minute later ISS popped up about 10 degrees to the North of where Venus had set. That was my treat, as I had to investigate some faulty equipment instead of chilling with the scope.
