Dorset dark skies :-)

Just viewed 5 different galaxies in 1 session with the telescope! Got to love the Dorset dark skies.

Oh... and Jupiter wasn't half bad tonight either.

Shame I'm heading home to Medway in the morning, and light pollution central :-(

Yes, Dorset skies can be lovely and dark. Unfortunately, not in "Dorset Light Poole-ution Central":D

Which part of Dorset were you staying?

I was staying in West Stour, just down the road from Shaftesbury. Some of the best night skies I've seen.

That'll be dark over there in north Dorset!

I agree Poole/Bournmouth is quite light poluted but you dont have to travel far to find a dark site.

We spent an evening just west of Bere Regis last w/e where my inlaws had taken the caravan for the bank holiday (They dont travel far!) I wished I'd taken a telescope now!
