as famous as M31 in the Northern Sky, NGC 253 or the "Silverdollar" is the counterpart in the Southern Sky.

The image was taken at the 12.06.2010 approx. 03:40 in the early morning, using the C14 f7 of Rooisand, Namibia with ALccd6c (QHY8), 5x120s + 9x240s.

The seeing was not the very best with blinking stars, and in general, it was absolutely not the right time for this object. It was just 15° above horizon, when taking the session.....something you shouldn´t do in Europe :iamwithstupid:but I wanted to have it.....you know this mood :)

I also added (didn´t know a better place to put??) 2 graphs, displaying temperature (red °C), humidity (yellow %rF), and dewing point (green °C) for a typical Namibian night, compared to a typical night in Southern Germany, in a location near to Lake of Constance.

It´s absolutely crazy, that in this namibian winter night, your lens will be dewed at -16°C !!!!

Anyway, caused by the wind, there was some dust in the atmosphere...also not the very best condition.

cheers

Wolfgang

....still clouded out... :)
