Canot see if they are still around, most references seem to be a few years old. equally I don't live around the area.

If they have disappeared try a look through: fedastro.org.uk and look for societies in Sussex.

There is definitely an Astronomy group in Hastings/Bexhill area as I recently organised a group visit to Herstmonceux and they told me that the Hastings society were coming the same evening with their scopes, I think they do their observing in the grounds of Herstmonceux. Lucky things as it's really dark there.

Otherwise contact Herstmonceux Observatory, as they will know which is the local group.
