Not sure where to put this post, Tip on Laptops

A number of guys are using cheap old laptops for imaging me being one. I also use it for starry night pro 5.

My laptop is only an old 700MHz with 192 meg of ram. It used to run Starry night pro really badly. It would take

up to 2 min to load up the program, That was until I had to replace the HD because 10 Meg was not enough

for what I wanted to do so out went the old 10meg 4200rpm and in went a 40GB 5400rpm.

Now Starry night pro loads in a matter of seconds and the laptop runs very stable, I think to change the HD to

a faster one in more cost effective than to upgrade the intire laptop.

Hi Mark,

I'm considering doing just that with this Laptop I purchased from Arthur, it makes sense.... I would be very reluctant to buy a newer model laptop for outdoors...

Your laptop is perfect for the imaging Jobs Mark, as to H/D you could get an external one?

It was not so much the imaging before it was trying to run Starry night pro. I got fed up with printing out star maps easier just to have the laptop next to me in the garden.
