First white light solar viewing session

Yesterday I got to try out my new (to me) scope with kendrick filter fitted - thanks to Russ.

It was late in the evening, just as it was slipping behind the neighbours hedge so conditions were hardly ideal, so I couldnt see any detail.

But the one great thing I noticed about solar observing is.....

....Isn't it easy to find your eyepieces in the daylight :D

There wasn't too much to see yesterday. Just one very small spot and with poor seeing you wouldn't have seen it. Hopefully you'll get another more favourable chance soon.

Good to know the old solar setup will be getting some use.
