Right then to business.

I Want to dual mount this scope, 1 on GEM and the other on a DOB.

Can I use the Same rings for this?

I can get a Dob Base from Orion which looks nice. or I could get the Saw and Screwdriver out.... not sure about the DIY option.

I have the OO Dob base and it is really solid and well engineered.

The variable friction brakes work well, but are a little fiddly to first set up, at least on mine.

The OO dob base is excellent but not cheap. I believe you will need 2 sets of tube rings if you use the OO dob base and an EQ mount - check out the OO website - lot's of details on there.

Having tried my 10" F/4.8 OO newt on my CG5 mount I've decided to stay with the alt-az approach - it was massive and very unwieldy I felt.

I guess you will need an EQ6 for a 12" OTA.

Im sorting an EQ6 for this as the CG5 would not take this for certain.
