Overnight mist / low cloud / very slight drizzle partially cleared mid morning, transparent sky between the clouds, hot & humid.

Overviews suggest another day of low activity ...

0915 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

0920 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

... with a nice prominence in the south west ...

1048 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

... and little else of any interest. However a detailed look at the activity in the north east quadrant shows that it is much more active than it was yesterday ...

1110 UT. Lunt 60mm, B1200 CaK diagonal, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

... with a patch of small spots & pores in the plage area closest to the limb ...

1100 UT. WO FLT 110, Lunt solar wedge, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

... which also contains small patches of flare-like activity.

There is also a network of filaments surrounding the activity.

Note the changes to the plage in only 8 minutes!

Transparency very good in gaps between drifting low clouds. Seeing generally poor, moderate at times. Temperature 21C, wind N force 1-2.

Very nice images.

We live in hope for some sunspots. The changes in such a short space of time really brings home the activity on the Sun
