Help removing webcam lense

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm hoping this is the right place to post this question. I have a Logitech quickcam E3500 for use in astrophotography, however I can't get the lense off, was just wondering if anyone has one of these or can tell me how I might go about removing said lense without murdering my webcam, I understand this is quite a specific question, just thought I'd ask on the off chance someone out there can help me, thanks in advance and clear skies to you:)

Hi. Mamsoth. The lens is probably just screwed into a shroud, and should be easy enough to unscrew. There could be a little glue perhaps, which is there to hold it in place. Don't attempt to remove the housing, as the sensor could be situated at the base of it.

I'm basing what I'm saying, on the Logitech cam I modified a couple of years ago. Yours could be vastly different of course.

Ron.
