Venus finally looks like a planet!

Thought I'd drag the refractor out for a crack at venus at twilight tonight and i actually managed to see its phase for the first time. Ive tried a few times now and its always just been a smeared mass off colour, so i am very happy.

I used a 10mm plossl with a cheap LPR filter (for about 10 minutes before it set behind my roof).

Clear skies tonight but i cant wait up for proper darkness as im catching a plane to menorca tommorow - 10x50s are packed - i wonder what the skies will be like?

good stuff, ive looked at it a lot recently and thought that i made out its phase, though it was way to bright for me

I havent been able to spot it for the last few evenings. It must be too low in the west now for me to observe.
