Hello all,

Complete newbie here, I just purchased a Skywatcher Explorer 130P SupaTrak AUTO as a gift for my mother. I hadnt really thought about it before but she also has a Sony DSC-H5 camera, is there any way that could be connected to the scope to take lunar pictures?

I apologise for my total lack of knowledge in this area, but if someone would mind pointing out what I need, or anything I would be very grateful

The simplest way to use your camera for lunar photography is to hold the camera up to the eyepiece and take a photograph. To make this process more accurate a bracket such as this one will hold the camera in place. Focus the telescope on the moon using your eyepiece and then attach the camera. The camera will then autofocus on the image in the eyepiece. You will then be able to adjust the framing of the photo by using the camera's optical zoom.
