Just came across the term and concept of the so-called "Superlens"... Negative refractive index, metamaterials etc. (all qv) ;)

Of course "Excitement" is generated whenever astronomy is mentioned in this context. But most (of the immediate!) applications seem [iMO] to be confined to the world of the microscopic or for... "cloaking devices". Can anyone see (macroscopic?) applications for Astronomy? A bit of (super?) crystal ball gazing, maybe? :)
