im gonna take the plunge

ive been putting off guiding for some time now, now got my armbands on and jumping in the deep end , ive got a oag on the way though im not sure what to do now about guide cam i was hopeing to go down the route of a lvi that does not need a laptop though you have to focus on a star using parfocal eyepiece so it would not be the same as the 1000d ? is there a way i can get over this or am i gonna have to use some thing else

and help would be good though i really dont want to use a laptop or two scopes
