Problems taking Flats with 350D (filter Removed)

Hi Guys

Since acquiring a 350D (With filter removed) i seem to be having problems when taking Flats !

I set the camera to AV mode and take a series of say 15 flats.

I assumed ( like when using my unmodded 350D) that the camera would compensate and give results where the histogram shows at approx 50% saturation.

What appears to be happening with the Filter removed 350D is that using this method the histogram shows sturation at about 90% !!

The resultant flats appear a bright white upon investigation.

Does anyone know why this would be happening ?

Forgot to mention i use my homemade lightbox which has always worked fine with my unmodded camera

Just dial in a few stops of -Ve Exposure compensation until the histogram is in the right area...

I tend to meter on Av then set the exposure time to the same value in manual mode this makes sure that all the flats have the same exposure time...

I'm not sure what's wrong but you can use exposure compensation in Av mode to modify the camera's automatic metering. You could also try other metering modes to see if the effect can be eliminated.
