hi everyone , I have just started making my Dob base , i have pinched ideas from ATM and some off SGL forum and , i am putting a few pics up to show where i am so far, i can't decide whether to make ply wood rings for the tube or to buy some 10" ready mades .

I am thinking Midnight blue for paint colour,

I have modified the mirror cell with some locking bolts , i used 20 mm spade bit and 3 pennies as stops for the bolts , i have cut vent holes in cell and mirror holder and a 50MM 12v fan from an old battery charger that had failed ,i have decided to bond the mirror with silicone so there are 3 shallow spade bit ( holes) ready for the sealer to bond to.

ps Last night i caught a glimpse of the Moon as it was setting and it was really RED i guess it must be an effect from the ash in the air, sadly no camera to hand.
