Solar Activity 14 Apr

Cloud broke mid morning showing a sky with reasonable transparency (though still with some interference from drifting low cloud) but very wobbly seeing.

Another relatively quiet day on the Sun, the disc was blank in white light apart from a small patch of faint faculae near the west limb.

AR 1062 appears fairly quiet in Ha, too:

There are interesting filaments near the west limb

and near in the northern hemisphere, close to the meridian

Lots of prominences, including an interesting group at the north limb

a tall "spike" on the SW limb

and an interesting group on the ESE limb which looked as though it might be another detaching CME - not in the same class as yesterday's "monster" though

Transparency moderate between frequent thin drifting low cloud. Seeing bad to very bad with an apparent tendency to get worse. Temp 13C, wind variable in speed & direction, mostly SE force 1-2.
