Meade 8-24mm zoom eyepiece rattling lens

Hi,

Can anyone help.

I have just received my new Meade 8-24mm zoom eyepiece and have noticed a rattle when moved side to side, upto closer inspection the lens you look through is loose and can freely rotate and move about creating this rattle sound.

Is this normal, I am new to astronomy and expected better quality.

Please help.

Certainly doesn't sound right. I'd return it to the supplier ASAP.

Unfortunately even with the best of quality systems these things do happen.
