looking to sort out a portable setup im looking at a vixen porta mount for the william optics or a set of pentax bino with tripod

any help in making my mind up the bino i was looking at were the 20x60

Hi astrokat,

Have you considered the Sky-Watcher AZ4?

Maybe not as compact for transport as the Porta Mount and without the slo-mo controls.

But it is sturdy on its' steel legs, with a smooth alt/az movement.

And it's nigh on 100 quid cheaper.

Hi,

Telescope house have their Revelation 20x80 binos which are 90 quid. They also have a fine control unit for any standard tripod for less than 40 quid and finally an Orion heavy duty tripod from FLO (TH also have it but it's a tenner cheaper at FLO though, TH may price match) 80 quid.
