I've seen a couple images recently of an aurora like this, and it makes me wonder if it's the same dsplay I saw on Manitoulin Island (at the east edge of Superior) two Saturdays ago. The one I saw was very much like this, with the broad green band on the horizon, nad streamers going upwards. I thought it was awesome; Mrs. Warthog looked at it, snorted, ask me if I wasn't cold, and went back inside.
