First bashes at deep sky imaging

My first two deep sky images - double cluster in Perseus and M42. Last Friday and Tuesday respectively.

Both are 5 x 30 sec. lights, 5 x 30 sec. darks and 5 x bias frames at ISO 800, with Canon 1000D through 6 inch Skywatcher reflector.

The focusing is a bit out on the double cluster I think, and I have probably over processed them both. However I was please I got the running man nebula, wasn't expecting that

Any comments gratefully received

Excellent "first effort", & the focusing isn't at all bad - the faint stars are pretty tight which is the best indication.
