It's full of stars - Dwarf Galaxies in the M101 region

SOmething you don't see here very often I think

Had a few hours today on FT North, imaging some dwarf galaxies around M101. Quite staggering when you see just how many galaxies and fuzzies there are in such a minuscule field of view. It is estimated that our own galaxy has dozens of dwarf galaxies in orbit around it (I believe the current count is around 14)

Many of these galaxies have no classification at this time (prime candidates for Galaxy Zoo)

Anyway..

10 x 200s (R Band)

2 x 200s (G)

2 x 200S (:)

and

10 x 200s (:(

2 x 200s (G)

2 x 200s ®

SUM mode in the raw data used, rather than SD or sigma conbine. Shows the high CM strike rate..

Fullish Moon didn't help with gradient/LP

WOrth having a look against the SDSS data from Microsoft World Wide Telescope to compare (use the RA and DEC in the images for coordinates)

Thanks for looking...
