another good night

Another clear night... So got out the scope and managed to track down M35 (quiet hard with finderscope) but was impressed when I found it.

Then I decided to try and view castor to see if I could see the double star, which I could

I also viewed M42 again, I'm always impressed when I view this.

Over all a good few hours, but it was cold out there !!

Lucky I went out early as the moon came up and clouds had rolled in by 10pm

well done. I was out last night too. The high cloud that came in was very frustrating. You could still make out brighter stars behind the veil, but it made the sky very light.

It's quiet hard when the newt is almost vertical as the findersope is a striaght through type so have to bend to see through it, then have to find the dev and ra knobs... oooh for a goto system :-)
