SCT Collimation with Artificial star ? focal reducer

Thinking of buying an artificial star to collimate my SE8. Now if I do should I do the deed with the f 6.3 focal reducer fitted and if I do what effect will it have on the distance the star needs to be from the scope?

I use one of the 5 aperture LED torch Artificial stars to do my collimation. I have it about 30m away and on top of a pole so that I can see it from the obs...

I use Metaguide and my DMK21AU04AS to help with the initial collimation colimation but tend to tweak the collimation for whichever optical/camera setup I have on the scope.
