Hi Guys

Having recently acquired a 350D modded with filter removal i just had to give it a go last night.

I know it was a bad time for imaging what with a big moon not far from my target.

Anyway these are the details:

M42

ED80

HEQ5 unguided

350D modded

60 subs each 40 secs

20 darks

20 flats

prime focus at ISO 800

Stacked with DSS

Processed with CS3

p.s What settings do you guys use in DSS when using a modded DSLR ?

thanks

Graham

Nicely Captured :)

Shoot bias frames as well which will help DSS fully calibrate the images and before stacking set up DSS to use Auto White balance

It's found here...

Options -> Settings -> Raw/FITS DDP Settings -> RAW Files Tab

check the Use Auto White Balance box...

I would have turned the camera through 90 degrees to give a bit more room and find centering on M43 works quite well...
