ED120 APO

Orion Starshoot Pro III color CCD.

55 million light years away, this classic and very pretty spiral galaxy peeks at us through the thick veil of starry hosts in our home galaxy.

Small, but nice. Picked up a few faint fuzzies with it too so I am pretty pleased.

I don't like compressing them so much for the forums as they get pretty lossy so you can see a higher resolution version in my image gallery Image Gallery

Lovely image Baz, one of my favourite galaxies but alas not available at latitude 55'North! Always a pleasure to see some of those southern gems done with a non-professional telescopic equipment. I remember seeing an image of NGC 2997 done by David Malin of the AAT on film a few years back but interesting to see how it might appear with modern amateur equipment.

Great images on your website too ...keep 'em coming!

Mike
