A new Art Form?

Not sure whether this is a new art form, or a demonstration of string theory in action . Anyhow, technique is to take DSLR, mount tele lens, set at wide aperture / high ISO, focus, point at a bright star and take a hand held multi-second exposure, whilst trying to hold the camera steady & centred on the target.

Here's a couple of examples:

Betelgeuse

Rigel (& serious sodium sky glow)

Note the nearby stars making faint echoes of the main pattern.

Canon 40D, 135mm f/2, 10 sec @ f/2, ISO400. Have fun!
