Comet 2006 M4 (Swan)

Another comet that`s been and gone. A fairly basic sketch. I think I will get better reproduction with a scanner, my method at the moment is to picture the sketch with a camera then invert it with the `paint` programme, (not quite `state of the art` but it`s a start I suppose).

I had it described in my log book as mag 4 and low in the west. It was also visible in binoculars.

Cool, another great memory.. thanks, Phil. :icon_eek:

Did you see the tail? Here's the rough 8:00pm sketch from my log book, warts and all as the saying goes :) ). I highly doubt the tail was as bright as it looks here, but the length is what i was trying to establish. Turns out it was about 2 degrees. My log notes from 25 Oct say "11x70s gave best view of tail.. 40mm ep in 80ST doesn't show it as well but shows a definite green tint to the coma."
