Whilst observing last night I spotted a bright object moving fast from SW over to NW.

First I thought it was the ISS but there had been no predictions and anyway that

usually goes over in a west to east direction.

Tried to catch up with it with the DOB and caught a few glimpses of it, very bright

and larger than the usual satellites that buzz around.

Checked with heavens above and the only thing that fitted the sighting was

the Envisat satellite.

Its doing a similar crossing tonight so I might setup to get a widefield shot of its path.

Sure getting busy up there.
