Clayton
Well I rose early this morning for me that is. 14/11/09Couldn't see Mars till I looked quite low above my house. At 30 degrees and rising The seeing was near as bad as I had ever seen it but Mars was bright enough to expose at 1/250th with about 30% gain. I began with 1/100th though, and after 180sec, I stopped and ran it through Registax with my usual settings. Registax gave me 11 frames to stack I then moved to 1/250th and 200sec avi's Registax was able to up the stack to the mid 30's The results are not encouraging But maybe they will improve as it nears opposition I did manage a little detail, like the North Polar Cap(at the top ), and the Hallas Basin, plus a hint of Syrtis Major. But to positively ID any thing else was I felt a bit optimistic 200mm f6 Newt, 2x BarlowPS the top one is mine The lower image is from NASA's "Solar System Simulator"
