Canon N3 cable to serial port

Hi,

Anyone know of a good guide to be able to mod a N3 cable release to attach a serial port?

I can't read electrical plans so something a little 'simpler' would be nice.

Go myself the chinese version to a shutter release N3 cable for £4.99, have myself an old serial port.. Just need all the bits to connect them and the know how!
