dew shield and bahtinov mask help needed

I have just taken delivery of a astrozap heated dew shield for my 12"lx200 and had to modify it as I have a guide/wide field imaging scope ( revelation 80 apo) and counter wieghts, the mounting bars screw into the front end virtually adjacent the corrector.

I therefore had to make holes in the dew shield to attach the brackets on top .

This means the heater strip is sat on the outside just below the corrector, I am hoping this will work .

My queery is this;

As it is not very easy to remove the dew shield will I still be able to achieve a good focus using my homemade bahtinov mask at the end of the dew shild tube or will I have to remove the dew shield to attach the mask on the front of the scope?

I would appreciate any advice

I put my homemade mask on my camping mat dewshield and it works absolutely fine!
