Polarscope illumination ... Christmas is coming

no this isn't another pressie wish...

My vixen GP has lost the polar scope illuminator (if it ever had one). There have been some fairly cheap options for a new light on the forum but here's one that's almost free.....

Last year at my office Christmas party the ladies were furnished with LED flashing cowboy hats. I grabbed one at the end for my daughters to play with. The hat ended up battered in the junk in the garage. And I got to thinking about my lack of a polarscope light....

I pulled the LEDs out of the hat found a red one and then soldered that to the handy switch/battery unit that powered the flashing LEDs (junking the bit that does the flashing) et voila instant polarscope illumination! All I need to do is glue a magnet to the switch unit to stop it falling off when I'm seeking polaris.
