Cannot honestly say that I have ever really seen zodiacal light but will definitely now make a special effort. It also looks like a good project for widefield photography. This article gives a good explanation and where and when to observe it.

Yes Amanda I hope to get a picture but need to practice widefield more. Andrew I would love to see your image of ZL. Stayed up last night till 3.00 a.m. as seeing was good. In a moment of madness decided to hang on till dawn to get the possibly first image of M42 in Orion and then drive down to the coast (about 500 yards) to see if I could see ZL over the North Sea but wall to wall cloud brought me to my senses.
