Mikea
First clear night in ages, so I thought I'd try to see a new (for me!) double. Almaak (or is it Almach?) was found fairly easily by Mr GOTO in my horribly polluted sky. Progressive reduction in EP size down to the 5mm resolved it beautifully. Despite the LP I could clearly see one orangey-red star and it's fainter blue companion. The blue one is also a double, apparently, but beyond my little scope's ability. The wind made viewing at high mags hopeless, so I didn't stay out long. Extra bonus just after setting up was seeing ISS + Discovery on the 20:34 pass. Lovely!
