Cocoon with overlay.

No great change to this image since last week except that I shot 2.5 hrs of Lum for the Cocoon itself in the Meade 127-Atik 16HR. I then applied this over the original Lum widefield (Baby Q-Atik 4000) in Registar. I had a fair bit of edge blending to do but the improvement was worth it, I think. The new lum I then applied over the standard LRGB image, to which I had a given a bit of blur to reduce noise.

I like the small improvement in the key part of the picture and can think of all sorts of widefields which would gain from this technique. The real gain seems to be had in adding high res lum. I don't think adding hi res colour is very necessary and it is SO much harder to get right.

I also shot some widefield of the Cocoon which I intend to add my hi-res to....it seems to work well
