Thanks all for the lovely welcome. My bins arrive today so clear skies permittting I'll be heading for the doctors on Monday with a sore neck

Last night was not so kind to me as it was cloudy and (without a compass, visible moon or Jupiter not obscured by cloud) I could not orient myself enough to identify those stars that were visible.

Well my bins arrived and unfortunately the wrong model has been sent so instead of 10 x 50 I have a pair of 8 x 40

My plans for a start at stargazing this weekend may well be scuppered unless I can secure a pair in town this afternoon.

A fantastic response from James at FLO however should see my correct choice of bins delivered tomorrow morning so, cloud permitting, I will be gazing upwards still this weekend.
