Testing a guide scope during the day

HI all,

Anyone got any ideas about an artificial light source as it has been raining everyday here and I really what to test my new set up.

Would using a small light be good enough?, am I right in thinking that as the light source would be stationary it would just be correcting against the sidereal movement.

Any ideas would be cool.

one option is a ball bearing, low gamma and gain, and a light source onto the ball bearing? (no ball bearing? Try a spoon!)

Pretty sure if you use the handset to nudge, the guiding software should nudge back.

Theres used to be an app that runs on your computer and you guide on the "stars" on the screen whilst imaging the neb pic...

I'll go and google...

Unfortunately the software was no good for me I could not get focus and I had it set up at least the 5 metres away.
