In need of a little help please - NB M27

[Parallax]

I have been playing around with these images all day and can't get a decent result. I have been following tutorials and also notes that I made from similar requests from others on this forum. All to no avail.

What I am trying to achieve is... well, a half decent colour image.

The images have been aligned and their backgrounds' equalised.

Lum - 8 x 180s with IR block

Ha - 16 x 180s

O3 - 12 x 180s

So, if anyone has a little spare time, I would appreciate their help/guidance.

Data looks pretty good to me, so should get a good result

Basic method of doing this in Photoshop:

1) Open a new image, make sure it is RGB.

2) Grab Ha file, turn to grayscale, CTRL A then CTRL C, this selects then copies the data.

3) Then CTRL V to paste it into the red channel of the new blank image.

4) Do the same with OIII into blue channel AND green channel.

That gets the colour image. But then of course extra processing is required (sharpening, smoothing, colour enhancements etc)

The process I was using was the same as you suggested, but you have managed a better result. I will give it another go, now that I have a "benchmark".
