TJ, only just seen this stunner from you. Fantastic work... took my breath away! For what it's worth, I prefer the mono version - think it conveys the majesty of M16 better than the false colour, imho.

Great image Tim, especially from where you are :)

Practical Astronomer had a very interesting article in Feb(I think) 2008 about using a Hartmann mask for collimating an SCT. I used the method on my 14 and although it only needed the slightest tweak, it made a lot of difference.

I'm away at the moment but I'll be happy to send you (and anyone else!) a copy when I get home if you like.

Yes please Rob, that would be great. There simply HAS to be a better method than just plain old star testing.

A great result there Tim, especially considering.

I went for this target last night, and it really is low down.

How you finding your CCD? I think there are great little chips!
