Volcanic Sunset

Has anyone else managed to image the recent volcanic sunsets

produced by the eruption of Sarychev in Russia.

I've managed to photograph it over the last 5 days. It was very distinct on the evening of the 28th June.

What an amazing 6 hours.

Volcanic sunset on the 3rd, which was nice, Followed by

an extensive display of Noctilucent clouds.

Then in the early hours of this morning, NLC all over the sky.

But what followed has left me gobsmacked. The most, most,

amazing Volcanic sunrise, still visible as I write this.

I have never seen anything as beautiful as this before.

The whole eastern sky is one mass of white Sulphur dioxide

ripples, and the most intense pink colour.

I rattled off 170 photos. This has to be one of the most amazing

sights that I've seen in 50 years of astronomy/skywatching.

Out of such destruction, emerges such beauty, we live in a remarkable world.
