QHY5 Guide cam issues

Hi

It has been about 6 months since I posted on this site I think and even longer since I have been out with my scope due to time pressures of life and weather.

I have therefore forgotten a lot about my set-up and this is my current problem:

I have the QHY5 guide cam which I connected to my HEQ5 with Synscan upgrade to the ST4 port and to the laptop. The scope is controlled by the PC and I use Cartes Du Celiel to control that normally which worked fine.

The problem was when I used PHD with the QHY5 I could not see any stars at all but instead could only see a white background with black lines across it.

I have previously used the same set up to guide and managed 10 min exposures with PHD.

The scope I use to guide is the C80ED.

Any ideas of the problem.

My laptop is USB1 but I have a USB2 pcmcia card which is powered from the USB1 port.

ARRGGHHH! I cannot remember how to use my equipment.
