Dont know which way to go.

I like my SE8 but would like to do some imaging when I can afford the 1000d Cannon ....

The problem is I dont know how far I can push the single limb altaz mount. There is a wedge sold as an accessory for it and it has an autoguider port but am I better off buying an Equatorial mount and using the SE8 OTA.

If I go for a wedge what would the experts suggest as the best autoguiding solution and what do I need.....I know more money...
