Registrax Batch files anyone use them?

Recommended Posts

I have been tryign to get to grips with using Batch files to automate the processing of lunar mosaics.

It seems that you onlky have a subset of the commands available with some "funnies" when you try and use them...

Heres an example

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\20.avi

LOADRAP 20.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 999

OPTIMIZE_STACK

LOADWVS G:\Program Files\RegiStax 5\Lunar IR.rwv

SAVEWAVELET 20.tif

What I have found so far is that your better off opening each file scrollign through to sind a decent frame, then using multi point alignment and automatically estimate the alignment points then save them (the .RAP files)

The best results so far are letting it run through until the stacking has finished then saving the stack. this isnt too bad as its the time consuming part

Wavelets are better applied manually to the tifs ratehr tahn automatically as the do all doesn't get done from inside the batch file.

Bit more playing after dinner i think...

if i get it working i'll write it up...

Theres a few niggles which seem like "bugs" like taking the right limit value over into the stacking process... whci soemtimes pops up a dialogue...

Couldnt find any info on the net either...

Ok after a few hours of playing about I still can't get the automatic loading and processing with a wavelet scheme to work... had some really wierd effects going on :icon_salut:

Here a batch file I use to process 20 s agroup of 10 images..

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\20.avi

LOADRAP 20.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 20_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\21.avi

LOADRAP 21.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 21_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\22.avi

LOADRAP 22.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 22_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\23.avi

LOADRAP 23.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 23_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\24.avi

LOADRAP 24.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 24_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\25.avi

LOADRAP 25.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 25_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\26.avi

LOADRAP 26.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 26_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\27.avi

LOADRAP 27.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 27_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\28.avi

LOADRAP 28.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 28_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\29.avi

LOADRAP 29.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 29_S.tif

SELECT Z:\Registrax 5 batch test\30.avi

LOADRAP 30.RAP

ALIGN

LIMIT 500

OPTIMIZE_STACK

SAVESTACK 30_S.tif

I then manually select each of the XX_S.tif files and apply wavelets manually and save the results...

Pity I cant get full automation of wavelets working

To generate the batch file.....

The easiest thing to do is select the batch tab then manually go through the process of processing the first pane of the mosaic...

The commands for the batch file will then appear as you execute them.

Copy this from the left hand pane of the batch window to the right hand side by pressing the copy -> button then save the batch file...

Unusually the batch file is in RTF format so open it with WORDPAD NOT NOTEPAD

Copy the block for a single file and paste it until you have the same number of blocks as you have panes in the mosaic. Then manually change the file name parts in the text.

Save the modified "batch" file

Go back into Registrax file and load the batch file and run it...

This will automate the most time of the process

The value after the limit is ignored but there needs to be something there...

If a dialogue pops up your stuffed..

Wish it worked a bit better but its better than nothing I suppose...
