SW 72ED..G&G for visual?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just watched a video about the SW ED72 and Wow! How small it seems... the man put it on a photography tripod and it seemed very light... Does anyone use it visually for day and night? cheers Tico

I use an Astro-Tech 72ED (original FPL-51 version), and it can easily double as a daytime spotting scope.  It does have some violet fringing at high powers, but it's nothing compared to an achromat's false color.  I've read that the SW version's focuser has less focus travel than the A-T and it's other-branded siblings.  Any of the various 72mm ED/APO scopes out there are quite compact and light weight.
