Redcat 51 sticky field rotator

Morning all. 

I have the little redcat 51, version 1.5 I think. I just bought the deepskydad field rotator made specifically for this scope but it doesn't rotate the camera. The field rotator feels a bit sticky and catches in places. I'm just wondering if anyone else has one and finds the same thing or if people have one and it rotates easy and smoothly? 

I've emailed William Optics to ask for advice too. 

Any advice on how to smooth it out at all?

When I've had such issues with camera lenses contact cleaner has sorted it.

A rotator should have a smooth motion.
