Coronado/Meade/Orion are no more

The parent company of Coronado, also Meade/Orion, looks to have collapsed. Even though Coronado has been struggling for a long time, sadly that removes a major player from the solar market. There are signs that Skywatcher  is developing a solar ha scope, so maybe there’ll be some competition for Lunt in the future, but this news doesn’t bode well for us customers, particularly in Europe where we pay a massive premium for Lunt scopes. I’d also be wary about buying a new Coronado or Meade scope - although there may be some bargains as stock is sold off.

I read this yesterday and it is indeed sad to see any company fail, especially for its workforce.
