Can someone tell me exactly what the two screws beneath the focuser are/do ??

There's a chrome coloured thumbscrew that operates the tension ( I think ), when tight the foicuser doesn't move, but then there's a black one just behind it. Looks like a thumbscrew but it's actually just a collar-any ideas on this one please ??

The silver one is the drawtube lock thumbscrew, the black one adjusts the focuser tension. If you are carrying a large/heavy camera or eyepiece the tension can be increased using a 2mm Allen-key on the screw protruding from the black hollow ring. When you have found focus you can use the silver screw to lock the barrel.
