Lunt50tha and Asi174mm

Got a question about anyone using a Lunt LS50THa and asi174mm. Do you get any newton rings with this set up. Using the asi120mm i put my tilt adapter to the max setting and I still get newton rings. Be nice to know if the asi174mm doesn't suffer as much before I buy one.

Hello Dunc.

I use the Lunt 60mm and ASI 174mm. Like you I also started with the asi 120mm and was unable to remove the dreaded Newtons Rings even with a tilt adaptor. With my current set up there are some rings but they can be corrected with the tilt adaptor. My biggest worry now is dust motes!

If you have an ADC at hand, try to incorporate that in your imaging train. Moving the handles to a non-zero position should remove Newton rings, see my website:
