Recommended Posts

First of all can i say sorry for all the questions but as they say "if you dont ask you dont get"

i have a celestron 114 eq and the lens cap is in two pieces this is a small centre cap of about 2" dia and a larger cap of 4 1/2" dia

i have been taking both off to use but should i only be removing the smaller cap??

Ask as many as you want.....

If you were observing the full moon and it was to bright you could just open the 2" one and observe through this.

You can also use this 2" one to observe the sun. But PLEASE BE CAREFUL to get a proper filter fitted into the hole and also cover your finder as well.

NEVER LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT A FILTER

But in general usage just use your full aperture.
